• Developing creative thinking skills, problem-solving skills, curiosity, and perseverance based on a unique STEAM learning experiences ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math).

• Immersion in the French language and in Francophone cultures around the world.

EDUCATIONAL APPROACH

STEAM

STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. These are the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century!

DAILY PLAY breaks

Research is clear on the development need for young children to play. Unstructured recess provides kids with an outlet to take a mental break from learning and to exercise and expend energy which ultimately enhances focus during instruction. At Notre École, students will receive 3 to 4 recess breaks a day.

Language IMMERSION

Language immersion is a method of teaching in which students receive all of their lessons “immersed” in the target language. At Notre École, this language is French. The end result are bilingual students prepared for their roles in our global world where they will be better equipped in life and in their chosen interests.

Responsibility and respect

Notre École will apply the Japanese philosophy of O-soji. For approximately 15 minutes a day students will clean the classrooms and communal spaces around the school. O-soji provides opportunities to teach social skills and valuable life lessons through - respect and gratitude for people and property, becoming an independent, responsible person, and fostering a respectful environment.

people, in United States, speak more than one langage at home.

Speaking two languages rather than one has obvious practical benefits in an increasingly globalized world. But in recent years, scientists have begun to show that the advantages are even more fundamental than being bilingual. Learning another language can have profound effects on your brain, improving cognitive skills and long term benefits. To learn more, click here.
